  • Can You Lend a Helping Hand in a Crisis?
Ever wondered how you could help during a local, national or international crisis? In the last few years we have had major crises all over the world. These include Hurricane Katrina, The Haitian earthquake (2010; killed 222,570), the Indian Ocean Tsunami (2004 killed 230,210), the wildfires of California, the famines of Africa, the Fukushima nuclear disaster of Japan. The entire list covers every continent and affects every society.

The affects of these distasters are so deep and widespread that governments have not proved capable of handling these alone. If you are wondering how you could help, this site is for you.

How can you help? The kind of help you can provide depends only upon you, for instance you may have "Search and Rescue" experience, you may be a medical doctor you may be a teacher. All skills and backgrounds are needed to bring a society back to life after a crisis. When you register you can specify how you think you can help. For instance you may want to help with the care a child for a few days while their parents recover from a crisis.

We encourage you to get involved and register. Your volunteer registration is FREE. There is no obligation on your part; it just indicates that you have expressed a willingness to help, in one way or another, during a crisis.

When there is a crisis, the responsible authorities and volunteer agencies can contact you through this site to see if you are still available to help.
